"Those who rise above are so electric, they spark with promise. "You see it in them, they're charged. It's just innate. Like, Taylor Swift is wired for it. Kendrick Lamar is wired. You look at their music, you look at their drive. There's no confusing that."

Video I created to get motivated...
Even though I have no followers I still like to post about my challenging journey to a fitter me. Since starting work as a traveling consultant, the past two years have been extremely challenging for me.
I am now the largest I've ever been and I just can't seem to get motivated. So, I've entered the BFFM Holiday Challenge to kick start my transformation.
I've also created this motivational video:
If you're interested in the Holiday Challenge, you have until the end of today to enter.

Lean for Hawaii
I have the time to get healthy for our trip to Hawaii next year. My wife is well on her way and I think she is getting nervous that I am not engaged in achieving my goal.

A Shallow Hal Moment
If you've seen the movie 'Shallow Hal' then you can probably recall the scene where he picks up Rosemary's lingerie and holds it at arms length - I kind of had a moment like that when I saw my business suit on a chair. It was like dam I'm big.
Starting over is tough - one minute at a time, one step, one meal.

Changing Behavior/Habits Takes Practice
" When I identified something in my behavior that I felt was holding me back or producing undesirable results, I would realize that I had already fulfilled the awareness part of the equation. I would then objectively decide where I wanted to end up and what motions were going to get me there. Next, I would work at that process without emotion, knowing that so many intentional repetitions over a short amount of time were going to create the behavior I was after." Thomas Stemer, The Practicing Mind.
Eating healthy requires a change in habits and behavior. It my not be easy, but once repeated over and over my behavior will change.
Still in pursuit of the FitterZone.

Hawaii 2015 - Motivation
Planning a trip to Hawaii for May 2015.
The goal is to be healthy and fit for the trip.
This goal is very doable. At a slow and steady pace, I can lose 70 lbs ( less than 2 lbs per week)
That said I need to change behaviors to achieve goals.

Picking up momentum
Started in May, but didn't really kick in until June 1.
Today I was craving a cheat breakfast, but ended up having oatmeal and fruit - next time I will add protein.
Beginning is always tough. Once I see results a get very motivated.

The Alternative is Unacceptable
I'm again at my worst weight and condition. The point where the pain of my condition is greater than the pleasure of the choices that got me here.
I start again on this day. My new motto is: "Discipline is choosing between what you want now and what you want most" Augusta Kantra
